Get to Know Us

ā€œEvery culture has a sound. Every struggle has a story. This is ours.ā€

Beneath the Bonesā„¢ is a cultural storytelling project rooted in the legacy of the Mississippi Delta — a region where the rhythms of African American, Choctaw, and Irish heritage converge. Through oral histories, musical roots, and ancestral memory, this series aims to unearth the untold stories that shaped a nation.

Meet the Founder

Iolande Vitt Argent is a cultural storyteller, educator, and researcher with a passion for uncovering the roots of forgotten histories. Drawing from a rich personal heritage that includes African American, Indigenous, and European ancestry, she created Beneath the Bones to honor the stories often erased from textbooks and mainstream narratives. Through books, guided reflections, and educational tools, Iolande invites others to explore the rhythms, migrations, and memories that shape who we are — and who we’ve always been.
